Why hello there

This is completely new and uncharted territory for me... Blogging. I've long resisted against the fad of blogging, as I prefer to keep my private thoughts... well, private. I cherish my plethora of diaries and journals I've filled up over the years. So, why did I chose to give in to peer pressure and lay all of my thoughts out for the whole world to see? I'm still figuring that answer out, but I do know that I needed a creative outlet. My love of writing has been seriously stifled since starting college, and I needed a place where I could post my thoughts, poems, stories, and essays whenever I felt like it. My creative juices have been bottled up and buried six feet underground since I entered into "successful pharmacist" mode. I love my field and Purdue, but there was little room to be creative. I ache to return to my Theater 201 class and my Spanish classes so I can recite a monologue from "Wit" and write poems in another language. Instead, my head has been recently filled with doses, interactions, chemical structures, and journal articles. Cold, hard facts. The whimsical artist in me has been trying to claw her way out of the dark hole known as science. Don't get me wrong, I love facts. I love having the right answer, but I also love to be spontaneous and entertain. I enjoy making people laugh and pretending to be someone I'm not when I'm on a stage. Life is much too short to be stagnant and serious. We will see how this goes. No one will probably read it, but I will. The wannabe free-spirited Australian in me can learn to hone my craft of writing once again....
